I'm trying to find a CD changer to match up with a Fiat OEM Blaupunkt radio for my neighbor's car. I'm not too familiar with Blaupunkt equipment myself, and I'm getting a lot of conflicting statements about compatibility from both stores selling changers and from Blaupunkt technical support itself.
The radio/cassette unit is a Blaupunkt 7-640-373-316. Units currently under consideration are:
1. Blaupunkt IDC A-09 in-dash 5 CD changer. Looking through some other posts here, I see some worrying comments about there being different interfaces fitted to this all under the same model number, which might account for the disagreement elsewhere about compatibility.
2. Blaupunkt CDC A03, 10 CD changer. The stores selling this all seem to think that it has a compatible interface, but Blaupunkt tech support said no (although to be honest, the extremely brief conversation didn't really leave me confident that I had been given the correct answer).
Can anyone shed any light on this please or, alternatively, suggest similar changers which are known compatibles with the 7-640-373-316 unit?
