hiya there, a quick question - does anyone know if the patrols on black rock sands [north wales] mind if you spin your car round a bit? am going there in may with an mx5 and wanted to see if I can get my other half to do a small drift on the sand at low speed, obviously this would not be done if people or dogs etc are in the vicinity

Although I have no knowledge of this specific situation, 8 years of life in the UK has taught me that if something is fun and involves a car that, yes, someone, somewhere, will object to it and ring someone who will fine you.

Black Rock Beach

Black Rock Sands situated at Morfa Bychan two miles from Porthmadog is a two mile long sandy beach, one of the few locations where you can take your car on to the beach. It has become a well known beach for activities and popular with windsurfers and kite-bugging. The sand dune forming the backbone of the beach are a Site of Special Scientific Interest

Also that someone somwhere will take things too far and ruin it for everyone. I'd quite like to go for a drive on a beach and do a few donuts away from people but you just know some idiot is going to be speeding along because it's not officially a road etc etc.

I have an amusing story about a supercharged Holden Calais, a beach in Freemantle, 2 bottles of vodka and things ending in tears. But I'm not sure the statute of limitations has passed.

I'm sure they're not going to extradite someone back to Australia for some boganish behaviour (alcohol fuelled behaviour in a Holden is automatically boganish) :p

if you know where to look, there are places that you can burn and turn around even in london, with minimal chance of detection.....

Cough cough "diageo" cough cough cough......jason:devil:

:d

In my defense it was the upscale supercharged Holden and Ketel One vodka, not a Torana and a slab of VB. And I recall the roof being very slippery when the driver stopped quickly. Which, in turn, taught me that sand is very, very hard when you hit it face first at speed.

For a moment there you were seeming to be less of a bogan and then you ruined it all :D
