anyone know where i can get some ? i need it pretty urgently.

thanks

i wouldn't mind knowing either seen as ive just got some antracite alloys i think black mesh would go better with it then the silver i was planning. Danny

I'm sure someone last week said they got some mesh from a DIY shop that was cheaper than mod shops, and big enough for the bravo bumpers. Can't remember who it was though, and they didn't say what shop.

I'm looking for some more too.

Re: Re: Black mesh

Can of primer and a can of black paint? ;)

Tom
I tried painting my mesh with a dark chrome wheel paint to match my alloys, but it starts to peel off in places and look patchy and can't be touched up without taking it back off again. Not recommended.

Re: Re: Re: Black mesh

:) Did you clean it and prime it first? You MUST prime aluminium before painting.

Re: Re: Re: Black mesh

it is ok i managed to find it after frantically looking.

the mod a bravo section is down on the bravo guide, is my memory correct when i think that 100X20cm should be big enough for the front bumper ?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Black mesh

That's the problem - you normally buy mesh 100cm wide- the Bravo bumper needs 110cm (I just popped out and measured it!!) (unless that's just mk1, non-fog models like mine)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Black mesh

with or without the fog lights the bumpers are identical i think. Fs Grr i hate fiat with a passion sometimes i really do.

so 110X20cm i assume ?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Black mesh

anyone know if 105X20 will fit ??

that is the largest black mesh i have managed to find :(

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Black mesh

if you use etch primer you shouldnt have any problem with paint not sticking...or failing that you should be able to get an anodizers to do it black for you for 20 quid.

Got the tape measure out again, Looks like 108cm is the minumum you'll need to reach. (maybe just 107, but it'd be a risk)

I kinda successfully cut two peices out of a peice of 100cm mesh, and joined them in the middle, which doesn't notice too badly, but I've alway meant to get a correct size peice, cut away the bumper section and mesh it properly:

I can get you all 110cm black mesh for £12.00 a sheet. But problem is you will have to let me know how many you need so I can order it in and then one of you will have to come through to the shop to collect as we do not despatch it out mail order cos the inevitable will happen - the postie will bend it to get it through your bloody letterbox!!!! It's up to you - maybe if you are arranging a meet and you can nominate someone to collect it before hand???? Don't know if this helps or not.
