Story so far:

I bought modified Cinquecento Abarth earlier this year and after replacing parts and stripping it back I realised that the rust had taken over. Just as I was about to give up, Lecook was selling a black cinq sporting, completely standard, rustfree with 12 months MOT and 6 months.

So I snatched that off him and drove the 500 mile round trip to pick it up on the 25th.

Plan is to switch all the good modified parts from the cinq and place them onto Neo, without any botch jobs being done! I've done a bunch of stuff so far so here's a little taster.. :slayer:

Little less arch gap!

I'll be spamming photos over the next few days.

First thing first - I want the engine out of the silver one into this one.

So here begin the questions, the old silver cinq (as you may or not know) had a 1.2 bottom end. How easy would this be to transfer into the new black one? As in, straight swap? I've got the uno inlet port matched with the TB seat opened up on it's way.

And if I was to do a bigger conversion, I'd aim to T-Jet but that's only a pipedream!

Well it's -1 outside so clearly that's perfect weather to do change rear shocks. Once rear shocks are done, I'll get a load of photos up.

Just sorted out insurance for it, £20 a month on multicar policy with my daily drive!

Black is definately my favourite colour in these little cars, I am sure if Leecook sold it to you it will be a sound little motor. I must admit you lot make me a little jealous as I know s**t about mechanical stuff and want to do so much to both of my cars. Still eventually I will get my man shed up and learn. Mind you if anyone wants to earn a few quid and do it for me?

I have ZERO mechanical knowledge, I'm using the guides on here and phoning members/sending photos when I get stuck. You'd be surprised how simple everything is once you get round to it. Just swapped rear struts, all it was 4 nuts.. 4 rusty seized bolts that were near impossible to un-do but still  It really is just having the balls to do it - advantage for me is that this isn't my only car!

SO - Rear struts are done and the car is now lowered all round and looks so much better. I've done the exhaust and all suspension now, so glad that is behind me! such messy work.

Tomorrow I'll be de-badging the car and good t-cut session followed by millions of photos to be put on here :slayer:

Today is warmer than yesterday (+1 outside!) so seems like the perfect time to debadge, fit the new steering wheel and the last few little jobs before I take the engine out of the old car (sometime within next few weeks)

Photos to follow!

I like things to fit properly  which brings me to my next problem.. the clip/whatever it is that holds the rear bumper to wheel arch are possibly the most flimsy-ist thing I have ever seen.

Is there anyway to strengthen them - or a better fitting? Bumper doesn't sit flush!

Good point, I am sure I could learn, only issues being, not enough time presently and bad thumbs, can't grip s**t with bad thumbs in the cold. Man shed will be warm with wood burning stove and internet with big screen lol
