Ok, the cheapest quote I got for a 1.9JTD Doblo is 2 grand smack on. Now, for a 1.3 fiesta (sorry probably a swear word on here) they want even more! I can't work out why it's so expensive! :) Well, I am young and only about to pass my test so yeah I can understand, but everything is more expensive than insurance on the doblo. It's only £400 off if I have someone else with more experience on the Doblo, but at that price I'm wondering if it's worth it just to get my NCB?

Anyone got any Doblo's insured with anyone? Nationwide and Tesco are my cheapest at the mo :)

Cheers guys in advance :)

You answered your own question as to why it is so expensive.

You are young, you havent passed your test, you have a 1.9 diesel doblo. Not the smallest capacity engined vehicle in the world.

Try confused.com they will bring up loads of qoutes from companies simultaneously

Sounds a lot for a 1.9 JTD. How old are you? I'm guessing 17/18 and male. I paid nearly 2k on a 1.3 Ka and a tiny bit less on a 1.8 Volvo S40. 1.9TD Tipo was even less.

How much is the Doblo worth? If it was worth 4k and you wrote it off getting 4k from the insurance - they're paying out double what they got in. The likelyhood of writing off your car is highest in your first year - it happened to me :bang: so it's not as bad as you think.

I'm not saying the system is fair - we should all start off low and pay more if we make claims.. but this is how it works now and since it's law then we're stuck with it. Your insurance should be cheaper until you pass your test - Bunny's insurance company wouldn't even insure her on her car when she passed, but her renewal was due so she jumped company (y)

You tried www.confused.com and www.elephant.co.uk ?? Good luck with an affordable quote.

I had to pay £1800 for my HGT for the first year and I am a lot older than you so it is about right:(

Try Liverpool and Victoria and Adrian Flux they have given me good quotes in 2nd and 3rd year.

Yeah, I know why it's so expensive I was just having a rant :p I just wondered what others were paying that's all.

Cheers to all who have replied already, confused.com brought up the most expensive sites I had ever come across, and Elephant weren't much better so I went off doing my own shopping online, I think I'll have to give some people a call rather than actually using online quotes and such.

I was really surprised a small 1.3 was more expensive than a big 1.9 though, but there we go :) Again, cheers to all who've replied. Anyone with a doblo?

***Update: Thanks to steve1219 who suggested Liverpool & Victoria, managed to get me down near enough to £1500 which is a total result! Cheers mate :) Going to keep trying though you never know! Thanks to everyone ;)***
