Hello!
I want to mount a 1.6 16V fiat marea throttlebody on my 1.2 16v engine in my fiat punto mk1.
On the top of the marea throttle, there is 2 vacuum connections pointing in each directions.
Can anyone tell me how and where too i should connect those to my punto engine, or can i blind them off??
Can this be done and with succes, or should i keep hands off??
Please help!!
Best regards Kim

I do have plans on doing a remap. But i do not quite understand what you wrote...Dunno???
My english is not to good...sorry

Dunno = 'Don't know' or 'do not know'.

I would assume that the hose connections are most probably only relevant to the Marea and you could block them off on your punto.

you might get a slightly improved throttle response, I think a 1.6TB is going to be too big to be of any benefit at this stage

blockl off the 2 vaccum hoses mate if your original didnt have them then block off

Thank you very much. Makes sence blocking them of if they are not there on the original throttle body. Will try....

The ECU. Note that all ECUs are not remappable (yet). Dunno about the Stilo one.

Generally you'll find that the fuelling settings will need to be revised (a little like changing the jets on a carburettor) and the ignition advance will need to be changed. If you do any other mods (or are planning them) do these before the remap (or it'll need doing all over again).

OK so if my ECU is not remappable, what ECU can be swapped in? If any

I've got a decat straight through exhaust at the moment, looking to add the mentioned 1.6 Marea TB and a custom induction kit - best to remap after doing this then? Will the standard injectors still be ok for any increase in output?

What about if I gas flowed the head and ported/polished it? Would fueling need adjusted for that also?

Internal mods I would like to do also are lightened pistons/rods and flywheel, but easier bolt ons are priority for the moment (y)

Cheersfor your input

People running them in Centos are using Megasquirt, Canems, Emerald or the old 1.2 16v ECU (which can be chipped). You may have issues with canbus (Centos are not cursed with it), so discuss with your vendor.

DIY porting on a modern 16v engine is very likely to be a hiding to nothing, even the pros struggle. The injectors should have spare capacity.

Hiya! :)

Have done a fair few modifications to my Barchetta and was also looking into porting and polishing the throttle body.
But looking at the body today shows there is not that much metal to remove,

Reading your existing posts, Is it posible to fit a larger throttle body from another model fiat or other vehicle.

My B is a MK1 and has a separate air flow meter.

You should be able to find something out there that'll fit. Maybe 2litre Alfa 155, 156?

That one would need sleeving, I think, and even then, there's the risk of buggering up the internals.

Problem with one from a different marque is you'll probably find the IAC is completely different and that the throttle pot has different values/fittings. No big deal if you're running an aftermarket ECU, but it may pose big issues with a stock one.

Hi! and thanks for replys,
My ECU has had its eprom chip changed and i,m able to change the map to a certain degree,

Another question is I,m planning on changing my induction over to an enclosed CDA filter and was looking at building a scoop directly picking up up air from the vent and through the filter,

Would this be a good idea and where might I place the air flow. ?

Thanks again for your replys. (y)

Also found this one, The holes dont line up but can something of a spacer be made.

Think this is off a GTV too,
