Congrats on the first 100K.

Not too surprised at the first 2 items. Wiper blades wear out, number plate bulbs have a hard life in the rear door.

Both front suspension arms faulty at 100k? Mrs_G is still on her originals - MOT not due until Jan 07 but the garage that service the van check this kind of thing as part of the service so I'm confident they're ok.

How much is it going to cost?

garage have quoted about £290 for the work and MOT
forgot all about the MOT and couldnt get it done at my usual garage who would have been a lot cheaper and possibly not as picky, but could only get it done at a local dealer who is rubbish,
dropped it off at 8am hoping to get it back by lunch time
took them to 3pm to finish the MOT
think they just told me lies all day
they also had a list of advisorys according to them
brake fluid needs changed
spare wheel only has 3mm needs a new tyre (its only a spare as long as it legal I don't care what tread is on it )
said my front wheel alignment was out and front tyres were wearing uneven
he said 1.5mm to 5mm , but have checked them myself and it aint,
so 2 new tyres for the front as well

no mention of my windscreen which has atleast 4 big stone chips in it, 3 of which are on the drivers side.

Better to be picky than not as safe ;)

At least nothing Major went wrong and it will pass :) I think Niall he or the previous owner might have driven the van like me to wear out those suspension arms ;)

finally got the van back at 5:30 tonight , so have missed out on 2 full days of work which I aint happy about, I know they could have done the work quicker as I could have done it myself a lot quicker, just don't have the facilities at the moment,
it seems to be alright although for some reason the battery has been disconnected cause the clock is wrong and i have lost my pre set stations,
and some one has been sitting in it watching my dvd player
at least they washed it :D

My battery went flat after leaving the sliding rear door slightly ajar. Strangly enough I didn't lose any of the stations or put the code back on the radio.

That's strange Doblo. Wonder what caused that? As it's on a CanBUS system the lights turn themselfs off after 20 minutes even if you leave the doors open. I can't really think what else caused it
Maybe the interior light was left on, but with me walking to work last week the wife used the Panda instead of the Doblo so it probably got drained over five to six days.

It's impossible to leave on? For me to get my lights to work again if I've left them on (whether with a door open or by the switch) I have to turn the key to ignition and back off again and they work for another 20mins.

What year is your Doblo? Perhaps this CanBUS system was only on later models  I haven't got a clue!

On my 53 plate, it's possible to drain the battery by leaving the boot open (or not-quite-shut). Perhaps a Cargo that uses 'dumb' lights on the sliding side door, too?

Welcome andybloke (y)

Possibly so... I'm speaking from experience of the passenger version where opening the boot doesn't even cause a light to switch on. Obviously on the van I'm assuming opening the door turns some sort of light on in the back? And that this wouldn't go off because of course if you're working in the back of the van or in and out then you wouldn't want it too?

I've found my Doblo to be very good, I was doing the sound on an all day outside event in the summer and i was using the back of the Doblo as a bit of a bench all day. I had some music on, with the sub still connected, and was running a mini fridge from the cigar socket. I hadn't realised that I'd actually left the side lights on too. This was for about 8 - 9 hours in total with the set up and packing away time. I wasn't too worried as I had jump leads anyway but I didn't realise I left the lights on. I turned the key and to my amazement it started just the same as it had every other time I'd started it up :)

There is a light that comes on in the MPV under the port rear speaker in the boot area.

My car is a 51 reg. I think the problem may have been caused with one of the new child seats that keeps the seat belt dangling, so when sliding the door shut it may be enough to keep the interior lights on some how.

The only light in the rear of mine is the one above the rearmost window on the right hand side as you open the boot, and that only comes on when you open the sliding door.
I have just looked on my Doblo CD & under the wiring section it seems to be "G40" if that is any help.

Yeah I just looked on mine, G40 it is!

Went out to the car and I'll be blown  there lies a bulb holder with no bulb in it! And there's me turning on the big light at the top and removing the parcel shelf cover to see anything in the boot for months on end! Dear me, I've had that panel off too and failed to notice it!

Do you know what bulb goes in there? Appears to be a wedge bulb of some sort? Thank you so much :D:D

At the moment the wife is out in the car so I can't look, & the CD isn't very helpful, I shall have a look in the spare parts catalouge.
