Technical big problems now help

got big problems with me little seicento...

the car seems to start when it wants to. sometimes it will fire up first time but other times it wont start at all or you will have to pump the accelerTOR pedal to start it...

also the warmer the car gets the worst it runs untill finaly cutting out and not being able to start untill its cooled down..

also i done a head gasket test with one of those testers where the fluid changes from blue to yellow if its blown.. and mine turned yellow so that needs replacing as well

will a nakered h-gasket cause my symptons of running or is that down to a sensor or something

Well my 899cc has similar symptoms and I found that one of the pipes leading from the air filter was blocked with oil and condensation etc. That was my problem sorted.

I'm not an expert but it takes two seconds to check so you may aswell.

Get a compression test done. Generally I'd expect the engine to be running very rough (and loosing a lot of water) if the non starting was due to the HG, but you need to get that sorted/rule it out before going any further.

the mrs had the cartoday and it broke down on her and wouldnt restart she was sitting in traffic and had to get pushed to a lay by....

when i went and had a look at it after work i managed to get it started to get her home .. (blue smoke everywhere). i took the air filter off and it was caked in there of oiley/watery/petroly. gunk everywhere

Sounds more like a ring problem to me, but it needs the head off for investigation.

head gaskets fixed and is all ok...

but i still have the problem of the car cutting out when getting warm and not being able to start again until it cools down

any other ideas
