I know it's been asked before, but still can't find a good answer.

I need to replace the 10cm front speakers in my cinq, because I think I've blown the cheap ones I've got in there at the minute, they're buzzing and crackling with any sort of bass even people talking on the radio and it's driving me mad:bang:

Don't really want to spend more than £30, so don't want anything too fancy, just something that wont go bang when I turn the volume up. Any Suggestions?

I've got a sub in the boot and some 17cm in the parcel shelf so not fussed if they don't make loud bass.(y)

Anything that fits the small depth is going to be fine on that budget. I doubt you will be able to tell much difference between them.

It's not really the difference in sound quality I'm worried about, its getting some that don't break every time I turn up the volume(which is quite often:rolleyes:). I've been through two sets of speakers in about 4 months:bang:

That perfectly illustrates the False economy of buying cheap. That and poor set up. You need to find the maximum volume that the weakest speakers in your system can handle. Then set up the others around that. Then no speaker go boomy.

I knew the current ones weren't going to last, they were £11 maplin own brand:rolleyes:, there wasn't even a rms figure or anything on the box. But at the time they seemed to do the same as anything in halfords, for half the price and the previous one badly needed replacing.

This time hopefully if I do a bit more homework I can get a set that don't spontaneously combust everytime I use them(y)

Like i said t £30 the sonic difference will be negliagable, running off the Hu eliminates any need to worry about power handling. ok £11 speakers wont last thats for sure.
Your main problem is in your set up. i suspect you have installed a sub with no considration for the other speakers.
A sub with a nice clean signal from an amplifier will clip way further up on the volume dial than the speakers up front.
So you are whacking up the volume with the bass kicking and sounding lovely, hiding the fact that your front speakers are clipping away like nobodies business.
Disconnect the sub and play music turning up the volume until the speakers distort. Then click it down a notch so they sound nice.
Then connect the sub and adjust until it sounds nice but doesnt overpower the other speakers.

That could very well be the case, although before the current speakers started making funny noises, they sounded good, not like they were distorting or being overpowered by the bass from the back.
I had put breaking them down to, when the volume goes up to what the sub/rear speakers can handle quite comfortably is running the front pair right on the limit:confused:

Thats what i said? Head unit to comfortable limit of the front speakers then set up the others accordingly. You have gain on the amp that as long as you dont clip you can turn up a little. As the Head unit is pushing out lower volume and less distortion you can add a little more gain at the lower volume.
Before that fade the Front and rear so both the front and rear speakers are playing at comfortable levels. You fronts will never play as loud as the rear and the rear wont play as loud as the sub. Thats when you get into needing more amps.

Thanks(y) I'll do that when I get the new speakers in there. So there aren't any particular speakers for under £30 that stand out quality wise, it's all going to be pretty much the same?
