Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question but here goes... I have bought a Punto Mk1 (1997) for the missus and its got the original Fiat tape player. I want to put in a new head unit, just a basic cd player. In other cars I just went out and bought an ISO connector, stuck the lead in and that was it. But I can't seem to find an ISO connector for the Punto. Is it not that simple?

Nope its even simpler. It is ISO as standard so no need for a bridging connector. :p
Fiats are not ignition fed so you will have to swap a wire around. The red wire should be on a bullet connector (on the new head units wiring loom). Unplug it and put it into the corresponding yellow one.

Hi, I don't quite understand that. The new head unit has no wiring loom, just a slim 20-pin socket and a hole for the aerial. The wires from the punto end in a large black brick. I have an ISO connector I bought for a Vauxhall way back. The punto end fits into that so it will connect to my new head unit but obviously I'm not sure if the wiring will be correct.

Then the head unit you are replacing it with is missing the loom it should come with. You may have to contact the manufacturer of or find one for that make of stereo.

Hi
So do I just swap the red wire with the yellow on? So yellow in red and red in yellow?

Thanks

Sorry not quite sure how to upload a picture. Was trying to show you the wiring loom I have.
