Surely any loud will kill them sealed. It would be like having them with a sub.

they'd be happy with the 1cu. also practicality reasons come into play. the cinq boot is as airtight as my rear end so any IB application would mean no bass whatsoever and crappy mid. it'll sound like a 4" with 'lots' midrange to it. horrible, and one of the reasons why people think 6x9's sound poo and hate them.
Ideally a well sealed boot would see 6x9 singing off some decent power

lol sorry didn't want to start anything.
Been thinking about the possiblity of adding a sub, What sort extra of price/ effort would there be, for how much reward?
Still not wanting anything silly but if I'm spending a decent amount of money and time on the set up might aswell go one step further (assuming it's worth it)

Well if you do want a sub then boxes for the rear speakers will def be needed. In all honesty you could fit a set of components in the parcel shelf and as oz said try and give them 1cu or as close to as poss.
Then put the tweets in the A pillars up front and angle the mids towards the front.
Have a look at the JBL 10" subs and matching amp and pay the extra lil bit to have a box made properly, also the fusion power plant subs are being sold over the JBL Adrian at phattbeats.co.uk is selling them for £40 he also has some other deals ideal for space saving but youl have to give him a ring. He should be able to sort a box too.

So are you saying ditch the 6x9s, put two components in the parcel shelf (or is components another way of saying 6x9s) , and a sub in it's own box.
Does a sub need to be completely enclosed? or does it have an exposed cone like speakers do? In other words does it need to have a bit which is visible from the car or can it just sit in a box at the bottom of your boot?
Would there be any problems battery/alternator wise or can the cinq deal with it.
