Tuning Barchetta Upgrades

Just been to visit a certain chap in the Netherlands to get a couple of upgrades for my Barchetta.

Have now got the following new 'features' [emoji1]

1) passenger side window one-touch if you hold the switch for 1.5 seconds.
2) when you open either of the door handles, the windows drop, to preserve your window rubbers, then shut when you close the door.
3) Windows close (if they are open) when you activate the central locking.
4) lane-change function for the indicators.
5) Also got two bulbs changed in the instrument pod.

Stayed in Eindhoven which is a lovely place to visit in its own right.

Looking forward to driving home today, just hoping Channel Tunnel not too bad.

Now they are very good upgrades, particularly option 2. I would be very interested in these how do I obtain them?

Hi Dave-M,

If you are a competent auto-electrician you can buy the 'box' from Henk at Barchetta parts. Since I'm not, I emailed and made an appointment to visit this past Saturday. Takes about four hours. Henk is the contact but the box was designed by an amazing electrical engineer. Has a small processor in it with some code he wrote. He's the guy with sandals and the woman behind him is his wife and secretary of the Netherland's Barchetta club. Henk is the guy in the red t-shirt and has an amazing repository of everything Barchetta-related. The guy in the check-shirt (Paul) did the fitting with the tidiest wiring and expertly hand-soldered all the connections. There is quite a bit of work to do including adding a magnetic relay to the hood so the system knows when the hood is up or down - it'd be pretty pointless lowering the windows with the roof down [emoji1]

They are a really lovely bunch of Barchetta enthusiasts and all of them have pretty near perfect Barchettas. Henk had LEDs on his including DRLs. They are working on perfecting cruise control. Big Mille Miglia fans and the Netherlands club go every year.

Just google Henk and Bartchetta parts. I've bought parts from him and he was recommended to me by the UK Barchetta club. If you are a club member (free to join) Henk offers a club discount (not on the mod though).

They are about 3 hours drive from Calais Eurotunnel. We stayed in Eindhoven which is about 10 mins drive from Neunen, where Henk's workshop is located. Cannot recommend Eindhoven highly enough as a weekend break destination - great place.

Thanks for the info Sdb, I have bought before from Barchetta parts, so I think I will make enquiries. But also a trip over is not out of the question, I may consider this.

Hey Sbd119, great post. So nice to put a face to the name. Here in Rockwood, Ontario, nearly half the people you meet are from Holland including my barber Gerrit. I, also really like that second feature.
