Hi after owning a barchetta for 10 years now, unfotunaly due to rust issues has been sat in the garrage for 3 of them. i have finaly got my finger out and made a start getting it back on the road. I would like to up the power a little say to around 180bhp. i know theres guys that have done conversions, but looking for a list of parts needed. ie. where to find a manifold. which turbo? injectors and such? any help would be great. thanks.

there are some topics about it in the forum ... like a rotrex turbo aplication (belt driven turbine), search in tunning topics by rotrex turbo ...
i would like to do it also but ... it's to expensive , you will need the turbo kit , air cooler, new fuel injectors , ecu remap... not talking about all the pipes , conections and transformation ! i also think thath the cooling system would need at least a biger radiator for handling the overheat from the increase of power ... not shure if all the engine block , mainshaft , pistons and rods would handle also ! at least with out shortning their life spam !!
at the end the bill will be biger than the car value itself !?

at long therm this cars value will increase, IF , they stand original !
i bougth it mainly for its looks beautifull , and is power and handling not being the best of all it's not bad...
so i'am hapy as it is :)
not saying with this i wouldnt like to do a project like thath

hi

yes i understand what you mean about keeping original.

I actually have 2 barchettas, 1 is the full car i bought 10 years ago, which requires welding of the rear arches and cills.

the other i bought a very early bare shell. as the early shells didnt rust as bad as the later ones for some reason? one of my ideas was to swap all my parts onto this to get my car back on the road.

my other ideas are get the welding done on mine, keep it standard and build somthing a bit different with the shell.

well, it's a good idea !
if you got the time and the money just go for it i think it will be a very satisfying process for anyone that likes cars and everything around them !
are you going for a make it yourself (everything possible) or getting it done be a specialist ?

How about this for a power upgrade idea
