Just got back from Birmingham in Brava. Some dope head cut me up forcing me to brake very hard to avoid me wiping nice met green paint all over the back of his car. Now got BIG vibrations every time the brake's are used.Is it my Disc's or has something else failed. Any suggestion's guy's.Also is there anything i can do about the poor low speed pick up acceleration. It's dire until 3500rpm then it flies to the red line. very entertaining for a 1.6 and plenty of fun.:(

i also have this problem with my brakes on my bravo hlx after heavy breaking but i have had new disks and pads within the last 2months any ideas welcome sorry to crash your post mate. Danny

Cheer's Danny. The car's got to go in for a cambelt change as it's now done 43,000 so might as well get the brake's done while I'm at it. I only live 10 min's from Kegworth so I might try the Fiat dealer JCS of Kegworth. Their prices are quite fair so I've heard

Did your wheels lock up? If so, that's your problem. (They now have a flat bit on the tyre which is not good, obviously hence a wheel being 'round')

Thats one of the features of the 1.6!

I have the Bravo and it's slow untill 3500rpm then it just goes, been described as feeling like a turbo, but when i'm flooring the car anyway it diesn't often drop below that, as its a revvy engine to get going thats what it tends to get!

:)

If you want a car that pulls well at low revs go get a diesel. 16 valve petrol engines have never been renowned for their low rev grunt and the ikkle fiat 1.6 REALLY does not like low revs.

Sounds like you may have flat spotted a tyre.

Bugger!! New tyres only 3000 miles ago too.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Bad vibration's

all you need to do is an equal length skid 359 more times at exact 1 degree intervals and your tyre will be round again. Either that or wheel spin at very high revs. lol

First thing would be to jack up the car and have a look at the pads, see what condition they are in. Could be a bit of rust is stuck under one.
