I just changed all my bulbs to Xenon, and half way through (i.e. as I moved onto the right hand side) I was rather disappointed to find out that the water pump (not sure if thats what it is) was right in front of the bulb compartment.

I literally had to do a handstand in the engine bay to be able to see what I was doing properly, even with the pump thing detached from its mounting you have very limited space. You'd actually have to be some sort of a deformed midget to squeeze your fingers in there.

It left me thinking that this is another one of many design flaws in the Bravo.

And that thought always disappoints me. (n)

Or changed one on a Nissan XTrail, or whatever it's called, where the battery comes out and the alternator has to be loosened. Or those cars where the front bumper has to come off....or, or...
Actually Fiats these days are better than most.

Or a very popular Honda Civic EP3- try to change a SIDE BULB!! My mate has that car and we still didn't figure out how to change it :) It has something to do with the front bumper i believe as there is no access from the engine bay to it.
Bravo is not as difficult as Peugot 206 or 307 - try to exchange the bulb on the road in the night time without a VERY good torch - IMPOSSIBLE in 206, hard in 307...

jeez never knew that, thats just crazy!

The paramedics at work use them and there was an AA man there one night for over an hour faffing about just changing a headlight bulb.

thats the light that caught me out, unplugged the old one and then could find the wire to clip to the new one, cut my hand to shreds, took it to the dealer, 20 mins later his son who had come home from lunch at school finally managed to find it. Have to say it was funny, but a right pain in the behind.

Not so much a design fault... more a way manufacturers (note :- not just Fiat) have dreamt up of discouraging home repairs and encouraging buyers to take their cars to a dealer.

you havent changed a light on the stilo then :p

i ripped my hands near enough to shreds doing just one side :D

to me the bravo engine bay has loads of space compared to it (y)

I have Josh... or was that at someone else?

Sorry lads but the Megane Sport 225 beats you all hands down - unless you have a triple jointed arm from the elbow down, you can't change the bulb...even with the wheel and wheel arch removed...only way to do it is to remove the whole front end (bumper/grill and all the associated gubbins) - Renault claims it is a safety feature to ensure the bulbs get changed by a professional to ensure safety is maintained...

I had a Megane and when one of my bulbs went I didnt bother trying so I went to Renault, they charged my £7 for the bulb and fitted it in literally 5 minutes and for free, its not that hard if you know how.

in case u have tjet, left passenger side u can remove the washscreen washer reservoir pipe so can have 'more' space to work to change bulb
