I have a 06 Grande Punto Sporting 1.9. I've got a road trip coming up and would really like to get my blue and me sorted so I don't have to take hundreds of cd's in the car.

The handsfree phone kit works ok but i've never been able to get it to read a USB stick to play music.

I've tried updating it and have done everything Fiat suggests but no joy.

I've never been entirely sure that I can play music as there is no 'windows' button on the steering controls, can't think off the top of my head what is there but am certain its not a windows symbol. Though the blue and me guide that came with the car does say it should play music, so im still hoping its possible. Whats the point in having the USB point if its not for reading files from a memory stick?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

I have a 55 plate GP SPORTING, and like you have the USB socket in the glove box. I am presuming I dont have B&M in my model, I think it came in on later models?

I have tried to use it to play music with no success so I am presuming its pretty much useless. SOme other forum members may have better insight in this, wo watch this space.

Hi mates!

I have an 07 Grande Punto and blue and me works fine! Maybe you don't have this system working out, or, you probably have the same problema I did last week. My media player wasn't working because it had to be plugged correctly.

I advised you to send an e-mail to FIAT.com asking if your model has this system and if it does, go to a garage to repare it.

I got this problem 6 months into buying my GP. The blu and me controls on the steering did nothing and the usb outlet read nothing. Freaked out and went to the Fiat dealership. And it works! Wtf? Then again after a year or so... Seems its one of those things. If u ignore it, it just waltzes back in a few days or so... First i thought it was related to the GPs software update but no.

Also the usb socket would sometimes not read anything if you have been copying music from different sources (like windows, mac, ps3 etc) and iPods set on Macs will not read. Only windows set ones and you will have to duplicate them in clear mp3 format (at least on my 07 GP).

Fiat electrical/software gremlins. gotta love them ;)

Got the same issue and the reason is the earlier models like mine a 06 mjet, does not come with the blue and me system!!
Instead of the windows button I got a dot with 3 wave shapped things coming from it similar to this ... • )))

On anouther note how did you set up your Bluetooth connection?? I press my call button but it does not bring up any menus???

Sorry i may have missed u. To what i get if your GP has no windows symbol, then it aint equipped with blu and me? There IS a usb socket that has to do with car software analysis/ updates or the like (on my 07 GP its in face of an open glove box compartment - i cant close the glovebox if anything is fitted, is that it?) This IS NOT for media play only for service. The media usb slot is located waaay inside the glovebox and is backlit with the car's dashboard - so yes if u have blu and me there are 2 usb slots in the glovebox, but only one deep inside it is usable for music, controlled from steering wheel.

Hope this helps...
