Technical aux problem

hello, im a bit new to this, but basically i have a new fiat punto easy 2012 plate, it has no blue and me or aux option, i have bought the cable to fit in the back of my hu but it still keeps saying no source available, i have been to my local halfords and my local fiat garage but no one seems to be helping me and im getting a bit fed, i have reset my radio and everything but nothing seems to work.
if any one can help me or show me it would be great

If I remember correctly your head unit needs to display aux on your display other wise that type will not work .
If your head unit has the aux function Has it been pushed in correctly/in right place ?

on my head unti there is no aux option but i have a media button that shows cd and radio, but i have aux audio options "/
