Please NOTE I'm not advertising / recommending / other but just stating what I experienced.

Specifically: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/

I bought:

Gates Cam Belt and Water Pump Kit
V-Ribbed Aux Belt
Sump Pug & sealing Ring
Air Filter
Oil Filter
4 NKG Spark Plugs
2 KYP rear shocks

Total Price Inc VAT (free delivery) and Inc free return for unused items came to £202.

All in all this is a very competitive supplier. I looked at other well known on this site/elsewhere suppliers and ON THIS OCCASION I could all I wanted in the single hit order.

I will stress again. I'm NOT recommending ANY supplier. I have several trade accounts I could have used. For those of you who shop around then supplier A will be better than B for any given item. The trick is get your basket filled in a single shop and at a reasonable price.

Tomorrow that above mentioned supplier could be pants but I suspect they will be competitive on a "basket" of items.

No further comment.

i ordered some parts from them , including the boot lid strut and roof hood struts i could not found anywhere else , delivered without any problem at a very reasonably price for rare items. (y)

Just adding that i do prefer to buy in local specialised store if the price is similar or not much expensive because you have the parts on the moment and if there is any problem you can exchange them rigth away !

Yes I agree with and do this as well. All depends on the parts required and the mix. Also availability plays a major role.

In this case my shopping basket from a FF site recommended supplier would have cost me £243.67 (incl. of VAT & 10% discount & the NKG plugs are "out of stock") compared to £202 so a £40 saving. Admittedly there is a delay while parts are shipped but for a planned major service I can accept this.

I will obsessively shop around for the best price, but if there's not much in it use my favourite UK suppliers..Autodoc seem to have really good prices provided you buy enough to get free postage. Also, they've got some really good car mechanics videos on YouTube, I often look at the fiat Punto ones before I start a job.....incidentally I replaced the roof and boot struts using https://www.sgs-engineering.com UK made....
