Having successfully managed to deactivate the hateful automatic wiper function I have a standard intermittant wipe, constant wipe and fast.
The other day I noticed the constant wipe setting slows down when the car does, reverting to almost intermittant when in standing traffic, perhaps not so good in torrential rain but I thought it worked well and was pleasantly surprised by this hidden function.(y)

You will find that the intermittent wipe also slows down when the car does. It is very clever but I would prefer a simple manual adjustment for the intermittent wipe as fitted on most other cars.:(

How did you turn them off as I'd like to follow the same route but in reverse and turn them on but don't know how even though I have read the page in the manual about it!

I deactivated mine by pulling the trim from the drivers side windscreen pillar,at the bottom of which was a bolt securing some wires to the body.
Earth connections, I undid this (the single wire one I think but would need to go and look again) and taped up the now loose connector and clipped the internal panel back into place.
Thats it.

Add a wire to that connector and via a switch to earth and you have a switched option for the wipers.
I must say I find the automatic operation justa bout spot on.
Ideal for those times whent he rain is so light you only need to use the wiper once every few minutes. Auto works for me.
