Hi Folks,

I help research the buying guides for Auto Express magazine and one of the next ones I’ve been asked to do is on the Multipla. Therefore, I need to find a non modified car, which I can put into the studio to photograph for the piece.
Can you please get in touch with me if you’ve got a car that we can put in the studio – it needs to be a tidy example that hasn’t been modified. The spec doesn’t matter, and a colour car would be good i.e. not black or white due to the studio being white. There will only be studio photography of the car, so there will be no dynamic shots taken at all. Only you will drive the car and you can stay with it at all times.

Now comes the snag, due to the fact that I'm supposed to get these cars either from a dealer or a press office there is no fuel budget for the shot, I appreciate that this is not ideal and I'm not asking for anyone to do this unless they want to, but if there is an owner who is close to Derby or Beaulieu and who feels that a professional photoshoot ( which would cost £400) is a fair swap for their time (a photoshoot takes about 3-4 hours) and fuel, then I can obviously give them more details. The owner would get a set of the pictures on a disc for personal use.

If you think you might be able to help, could you drop me a line please, via this forum attaching photos if possible.

Please note that the Derby photographer can work weekends if necessary.

Thanks for your time,
Vicky

Hi boilermansab

I thought that this could be the case, I actually know someone with one and it's the same story - it's a good reliable workhorse so isn't the most tidy around!

Thanks
Vicky

Suprised you cannot photo a black Multipla, most photographers prefer a black car. Depends I suppose on what decent equipment they have. A white one you will not find. Most late plates like mine are Black Metallic or Dark Blue Metallic. Good luck in your search.

Hi Fiat Fleet Family

Took your comments back to the Art people and black is fine to photograph but makes the page look very black and white (!) so they try to inject some colour onto the page using a colour car. However I can actually modify my request and they are fine to use a black / dark car in this case in view of your comments about availability.
Thanks for the information.

Define tidy example.... My interior has not aged badly at all, and the previous owner was quite tidy. The exterior had a mop and polish before I purchased it. Its not show condition, but it has no dents and all the trim is there.

Hi
Tidy in this case means that the car is in good condition with no dents, scrapes or big rust spots but a few stone chips is to be expected. Also the interior needs to be fairly clean (no big coffee stains) and rip free. What we don't expect is a gleaming shiny concours car as that isn't really what you would see in a showroom (well unless you were really lucky). Does this help?
What I did try and ask was for photos to be sent to me at [email protected] but I couldn't put a URL link in my first few posts - if this goes up I guess I've done the right number of posts. I can then put the snapshot in front of the Art department who would say if the car is suitable.
Many thanks
Vicky

If i lived nearer i would put mine forward, immaculate, full of options and 39,000 miles and the final edition interior / exterior, even though its Black Metallic !

I have a 57 plate Eleganza in new orleans blue with 33000 miles on the clock, it looks like new. I'm not that far away in Sheffield so could do it. I don't have any pics but if you look on my youtube channel, username joffster1 you can see it. The video is called 'Fiat Multipla love em or hate em'

That blue is very nice, real nice polished up, but not as good as Black ! I am bias.

Hi All
Sorry I haven't been quicker off the mark answering your questions. Joffster1 I will forward the link onto the Art team and if suitable I wil PM you if that's OK.

Dave - I do know what you mean and obviously we try not to do that. What normally happens is that once a car has been found to photograph I let the forum know and at the same time ask if there are any men(or women) out there who know about the relevant car who would be willing to be our expert. What this entails is getting a copy of the article, reading thru it and then letting us know what is wrong, missing or occasionally what is right! However we are also aware of the pitfalls that this approach has so we also go back to the relevant press office to check things out along with VOSA to check on any recalls that the car may have had. Hopefully this gets an accurate write up on the car.
Does this help?
Thanks
Vicky
