General Auto box - any failures so far?

Having bombed the idea of a 2.4, now looking at 1.9 autos. Anyone know if the autobox is a reliable unit or anyone had problems of the severe wallet type?

Absolutely none what so ever - apparently the unit has a good track record.

The only slight niggle I have is that the gear ratios are set for Europe and European speed limits (changes gear at 46 mph but not 40 mph, and at 76 mph but not 70 mph). Economy doesn't seem to suffer too much either.
