ok this is going to be hard as i dont have a picture of a JTD engine to show where it is, i have found one from Joskes Dumpvalve guide (@Joske i hope you dont mind mate its just so i can try explain what im on about)

but yeh (excuse the lack of knolege here) but around where the sexy pink circle is there is a valve with a pipe going in and i assume a pipe going out.

1. Wtf is this? lol
2. every so oftern when i check the engine the i find the left pipe thats clear (not sure if that helps) is hanging off, now this appears not to effect the car which confuses me. i assume it must be pressure maybe? i really dont have a clue,

can anyone shed any light on this? (see image below)

Thats the fuel filter. The pipes, one from the fuel pump, the other to the engine, obviously. :)

Three electrical plugs are connected. Two at the side and one underneath on the water sensor.

hmm thats just boggled my brain even more as surely then if it was hanging off then i would imagine the car wouldnt go any where seen as the fuel wouldnt get to the engine :S

as i would of driven a few days with out realising as i only check her once a week, (im lazy and too busy)

James... leave it off!!

Joske has a euro3 engine.. yours is an euro2 JTD.

the pipe is a vacume pipe that opperate the ERV (exhaust recurculation valve) the 1 on the euro3 is electronic.

The reason why it's off is because the valve doesn't work.. cos it's broken closed.

If you put the pipe back on it wont tickover and you'll loose poswer!!

You really don't want the ERV working anyhow.. cos it put lower oxyganated air into the engine.

I really don't know why you just don't ask me in the 1st place.. i did ownthe car for over 2years!!! lol

well i am asking now :p and i did guess you would see this post, haha why is it broken closed? for the remap? or should i get one thats not broken as surely it must be there for a reason.

and it runs with it on or off, it doesnt seem to make any difference it just keeps jumping off every now and again lmao

There is a guide on here Sven did.. they just sease up.. it's not needed.. it's so they can get the lower EU emmisions by recirculating the used air.

i woldn't bother replacing it.. but you can if u want
