General ASR 500L 1.4

Hi all, should I deactivate ASR when driving I live in South Africa… this is a winter car and I live in a very hot climate… it seems to be chomping my brake pads with ASR activated!!
What can I do my 500L is annoying me I’m now to scared to drive the car!!

It should read ASR or AST next to the button which opens the trunk. If not, then it's somewhere else.
