General arrgh chipped screen!

So get a windscreen chip today only to find out that I didn't add windscreen cover as I cheaped out on insurance and went 3rd party fire and theft for the first time in 13+ years!!
As the chip is in the line of sight it will be an mot faliure..so will try and get it repaired at my own cost but if its too bad, does anyone have an idea how much a 2nd hand screen is roughly? And how much they are to fit? Wouldn't of thought I could fit it myself, even though I do most things on the cars!

Is just a chip is not a big deal...if it was a crack it would be a different matter
Get a quote from autoglass or anyone else that repairs windscreens
i would not mess about with used windscreen as is defo a proffesional job
Plus have you have seen someone taking a windscreen out? Always brakes!

Depending on the size of the chip, Autoglass would probably repair - why not try this

If it gets you through the MOT you're sorted - get windscreen cover next time round and get your windscreen professionally replaced after that large chip occurs

Thanks for the advice guys...got it repaired by a local firm, wasn't too bad in the end only £25...pm me if u need their contact details and are in the harlow essex area.
Also sourced a new windscreen for £150 fitted which I thought was very reasonable!!
