I've seen various concepts and artists impressions over the years for a follow up to the Coupe but unfortunately, none have ever been taken further..

Even a follow up to the Barchetta..

With the likes of Toyota (who seemed to veer off into oblivion with it's hybrid rubbish) are veering back into the sports car market, and Honda with the CR-Z. Renault seem to be doing well with all their Coupe offerings (the laguna Coupe is a stunning thing..), even Hyundai's Coupe is a pretty common thing on the road. Isn't the time right to jump in with the competition?

A nice base model 1.4 turbo pushing 150hp and upto a higher spec 2.0l Turbo, much like the original coupe, pushing around 250hp. Even throw a JTD in like peugeot did with the 406 coupe.

So will we ever see another Fiat sports car?

This Lotus Elise based car has been rumored for a long time now, though given that its literally been years and nothing has come of it I'm pretty sure its not going to see the light of day.

Also the way fiat structure their companies any sport car based models are more likely to go to alfa romeo or anything faster to one of its more prestigious brands

and with Fiat's current marketing being based on family brand core values environmental impact and economy i can't see them being in any hurry to bring out anything to spoil this view

Even if that did see the light of day though it'd be an Abarth, and not a FIAT in the way Bushboy means. I think FIAT are comfortable doing what they're doing - leaving the 'hot' versions of their own cars to Abarth and delegating responsibility for more sporty cars to Alfa, Lancia/Chrysler and - of course - Ferrari.
