Hi all.

Anyone know if these units work as they claim?
Seems a bit too good to be true in some ways????????
Ebay Item number:370234176557

They work by altering the injection parameters. Whether this one works I have no idea. I have a Tunit module fitted to mine. I also fitted one to a Nissan Primera and that was ok as well. The difference is the Tunit costs five times as much as the one on Ebay.

What he said :D but your allways better off getting a custom map to your car as all are not the same.
Angel tuning do a good job as well as Millenium and red dot racing, they all as far as i know use the same equipment and just alter the settings on the car with real time mapping rather than one fits all approach which can lead to problems.

Yes, they do work, perhaps not as well as having the ECU tuned but at a fraction of the price ( 1/2, 1/3 ) AND the benefit of being able to remove from the car and transfer to another common rail diesel.

I have been using the Synergie 1 from >

http://tuning-diesels.com/

for the past 4 years and it works extremely well. I would not be without. It certainly improves the torque & power of the JTD110 with no allusions to MPG improvement. You can't have something for nothing.

I used another type from Germany prior to this one and it also worked fine but without the variable power switching.

I believe the Synergie one allows a return & refund if not satisfied within a month! The guy puts his money where his mouth is!

:)I know a couple of guys who have had Angel remaps.:)

One has had 150bhp done for economy and granted he is driving it like a fairy but he is showing over 50mpg per tankful. Regularly. We checked his figures on another forum and provided he wasn't fibbing (he had no reason to) we concurred. This almost certainly has something to do with the remap cos even when I drive like a girlie girl I cannot get over 43.5mpg from my 18 month old 120 multijet. He's running what was originally a 110 in an uglybug.

The other guy has a 120 multijet. Originally he had it remapped for 150bhp power and he said it took off like a scalded cat from 2000revs! Marvellous fun but no good for towing his caravan! He then had Angel back and had a milder form of the remap done to 145bhp. Much better for towing and still entertaining when he wants it to be. Haven't checked his economy figures yet.

Have seen a tunit thingy in use in a over 600 diesel and it certainly gave more power, but more smoke!

I fully intend to have a 150+ Angel remap when my warranty expires. After all. you're only 45 once! :p

Hope this helps.

does anybody know if there are any tuning options for the 1.6 petrol?
i have read a lot about the jtd`s getting a bhp increase but nothing about the petrols. i dont really want to go down the boyracer route and stick a big exhaust on etc. but would like a little more oomph :)

Petrol without a turbo s far more expensive to tune, best bet is a decent aftermarket exhaust with a branded panel filter (induction kits will cost you low down torque ) and a remap you could see around 10 bhp.
More tuning would be a lot more expensive to do as would require cams etc and would not suit the purpose of the car as its an mpv your gonna want to keep as much low down torque as possible.

Just dont buy one of those £5 diodes off ebay as all they do is trick the car into thinking its running cold permenant (n).

Although original equipment (bmw) mini superchargers can be had for reasonable money.

Pandabloke , yo do know the remaps from angel are undetectable by the dealers and are not in breach with warranties.
There is a fiat dealer offering angel remaps on new cars, it was in auto italia a while back with a diesel punto with a standard 0-60 time of around 14 seconds which was brought down to 7 secs with a remap exhaust and induction kit.

:)Ooh. That's interesting..... I did know that they were undetectable. In fact my main dealer told me that if I got one done, just let them know so that they didn't upset it when they were resetting a fault code or whatever.

I was told that although they can't detect a remap, the diagnostic computer may recognise an alteration to the software and read this alteration in a funny way. My main dealer therefore just wanted to ensure that they didn't upset it if I had it done.

I wasn't aware that it didn't affect the warranty though.(y)

I have a brilliant relationship with my main dealer, particularly on the service side and this was all said to me with a 'let us know and we won't bugger it up for you' thumbs up attitude. (y)

Of course, there is the insurance implication as well........;)

just been having a bit of a read up on electric superchargers.........;) and a lot of people have given them a good old slating which has put me off a bit. plus nobody seems to have actually tried one. however i have managed to get one for a few quid (just to actually try it and see) off fleabay. seems this guy paid a fair amount for it and no longer wants it. (in other words its crap) but i am gonna try and modify it. take a look at this link and see what you guys think to this test. http://www.kewengineering.co.uk/upgrades4mgs/Engines/electric_supercharging.htm

To be of any use it would have to have the ability to vary its speed otherwise it could poss restrict airflow at times, the theory is right but super expensive motors would be required backed up with a remap to allow for the extra feuling.

Does everyone have this kind of warranty?? I only have 4 years to go till mine runs out, I already run at full power though, so that's good!!

:DHa ha ha ha! That made I laugh proper, that did!:D

No, I am special. Well, they said I was special at school, anyway. It was approved, my school.....

Roverron is very well respected in 75/ZT diesel circles... and the Synergy has been quite faultless from experience on those forums. The unit ups the pulse width of the fuel so the mpg readout becomes rather optimistic when in use (Rover 75s could be 5-10% overread)
As Peat also infers, worth remembering this when you try and think you ARE getting something for nothing...;) !

I've had an Angel 150bhp remap done to my 52 plate 44k 115 JTD. Best 275 sovs I ever spent.

After an initial period of leathering it, I've now gone full circle and resorted to driving it like Miss Daisy. With the last 3 fill ups I've got over 700 miles from a tank.

Pretty good, me thinks.
