If it is for multiple pc's use a router. I have the tv, phone, and a 10 meg connection all off the 1 cable connection, they dont slow each other down. They can be expanded a hell of a lot more, (more channels, quicker net speed) so you would never need a 2nd broadband connection.

thats what the routers for.
a 2nd line as you put it would need ot be a full line from the main cable into the property which would be megabucks.
you just need ot sort out a netwrok solution that suits your application

dot understand why it HAD to be someone who works for VM *shrug*

the 2nd line is for me and me only, the family use the excisting bb line, i just want one for me, so i can use the bandwith and not share it as i play 360 on line a lot and when people are downloading it slows it up etc.

thats what i wanted to do get a new line but virgin say i cant as they only provide one per house hold, i dont want to pay for a phone line(bt) and have a provider put bb down this as i dont need a phone line, just a bb line

we have 3 pc's that game online, phone and tv in our house (student pad) we just got the 10mb BB deal and we have no problems with games slowing down etc.

what BB connection have you got atm?

You can use the router to "control" the amount of bandwith that is being used. As Sway says "Up your speed" :D
