Thats exactly why I didnt renew my policy with them...when I called up to haggle the quote they gave me which actually went up, even though I have now been driving for 2 years and have the no claims to match...

Anyway, I got through to an Indian call centre who managed to change the details of my car so that I got a "thankyou for updating your details" letter through the post. My name was mispelled, the car was wrong, the address was wrong....fer chrissakes I dont have a problem with Indian call centres because of where they are, its the total lack of customer service they give...and this is a great reason to switch companies.

they can provide a slightly poorer service but at a fraction of the cost, something like a third.

Your indian call centre worker on earns 1300 a year compared to UK counterpart that earns 12000. This was on the news, the indian's are 30% less productive but for the company its still quids in.

Now for me this has resulted in the cheapest insurance quote i can find is with these people, this is due to such working practices. Now i am concerned that if i need to make a claim i will be up the swanny but i think the insurance assesors are all based in the UK as they have to physically see the car.

I put up with the twice as long conversation that is required when i have to talk to them, for a lower cost. This, i have to do as i aint "in the money"

Its the way the economies going to go as the indian's get better and better over time, but on the flip side the cost of the indian's will rise but to no where near as us in the UK.

It is a sad state seeing the jobs leave the country, but when your in such a materialist society such as ours (ie buying a beautiful bravo) then people want to reduce the cost of their bills to spend more on beautiful bravo's!

By all means use your consumer sovernity and don't buy from norwich union but i don't fancy your chances of making a difference, too many people don't give a toss.....(not me!....pleps!)

i used to work for NU Life insurance and am a victim of their employee re-locations...i was also first to discover how cheaply they could offer insurance premiums as a result. I pay 850 TPFT on my 155 HGT with 3yrs driving experience and just one years no-claim bonus. Last year with Tesco i paid 1600 on a 1.6 Brava. I did have to talk to an indian call centre but they seem to have done ok with me this time.

I expect it puts some customers off though...i really hope it backfires on them and their profits fall. I know that Dell computers use indians and they are utterly useless - dont buy from Dell!

Heard today that two more NU sites have been closed with 7000 job losses. Its a disgrace. The big cheeses are right penny pinching bum weasels.

I hate NU, They stuffed me, When i had my first accident in the car, My renewal price went up 3 fold, So i payed them £1500 to cover the costs of the repairs and then npaid £4000 less with another company
 
I was with them, but will NEVER use them again was quoted a premium that was fictious because the branch manager never got clearance from head office then thought he was doing me a deal by putting it up 500 quid!
