Just had a quote from them for a a tiny £525 for my HGT.
But..... they want a Cat2 thatcham imobaliser fitting else the cars not insured.
Has the HGT got one already?

Cheers
Mr Al.

i don't think the standard one is thatcham aproved mate(correct me if i am wrong), but Toad to a really cheap imobiliser which is thatcham approved.

hope this helps

Adrian flux

I am with them for my kit car, they are good at taking the money and responding, esp to e-mails, but I have heard they are b@stards to get money out of ( but arnt they all) but I have never claimed, so cant really say

Follow up note

They are preety good at giving discounts to diifeant groups, so maybe if you tried asking for group discounts it might come even lower

Re: Follow up note

They are based here in Kings Lynn so i got my motor bike insurance from them for a very good price. When i had an accedent it was murder to get any help from them.

I would (and do) say well clear.

Dill.

Re: Re: Follow up note

I'm with good old Adrian, and the price was good. Like the others said, they are cheap and hopefully i wont have to claim before February when my policy expires. I'll migrate to Admiral.

Re: Re: Re: Follow up note

Give esure a try, I was ith Admiral last year, they quoted me £525 this year for my 155HGT. esure got it down to £385, mind you I'm an old 31 year old with 5yrs no claims, but get this, it was cheaper to put my missus on as a named driver. I was like, are you sure, you do realise she's a woman, and your reducing the cost?!? And of course I'm gonna let her drive it.......

Re: Re: Re: Re: Follow up note

Yep, I'm with them and pay £400 for my HGT. Never had to claim though but I've heard they can be a bit shite.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Follow up note

I'm with Flux.
Steer well clear!
Had an accident over a year ago that their still trying to sort out!
They've been utterly pathetic and very very unhelpful!
They've dragged the whole case along and been dreadful at chasing the other persons insurance company!
The case has now been taken on by solicitors and is going to court, fingers crossed for me!!!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Follow up note

Cheers people. I think im going to be looking else were then. Its all very well having cheap insurance but if they dont pay up!! I'd rather pay extra money knowing they will pay up.

:)

Mr Al.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Follow up note

Don't touch Churchill either... dire !

They'll invalidate your policy for a non-declared air freshener and if you have an accident they repair it themselves but do a below average job and break other bits while they're at it. :(

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Follow up note

I have to say I am now of the opinion that it's best to just get insurance as cheap as possible with up to £500 excess. The fact is that if you ever claim without protected NCD for anything under £500 it costs you far more in premium hikes etc than it's worth. Best to pay it yourself and just have the cover there in case you write it off and if your car is worth less than £1500 then forget fully comp and TPFT just go for TPO. By the time you factor in that they are only going to give you £800 for your car and that your insurance will cost an extra £800 over the next 3 years it aint worth it.

Shabash!
