Anyone up for an arguement?? :)

I'll argue with anyone about anything, anytime.

Apart from that link - it seems relatively fair to me.

I dont agree with this at all though.

"A real car fan wouldn't buy a Bravo/a."

We wouldn't want them as owners :)

My guess is none of them have touched one.

i love the guy goes on about probability, they come off the same sort of mass production line as every other car on the market, they all have the chance that the human involvement is going to go wrong on a friday afternoon. Lets face it, if its a design or manufacturing fault caused by the shoddy fiat it'll be on all of them.

They are a cheap car and do very well for the price IMO. Mine got to 7 years before i had to do anything other than servicing and tyres, better than my mums nissan, dads merc or bosses bmw which all had serious faults before they were two and are all far "better" makes.

are they stupid??
one says they arent reliable??

which is bizarre as the recent survery for car reliability from last 8 years whcih honda civic one said this.........

'Despite the Civic racking up quite high bills - an average of £335.10 - when it did require work, Civic owners rarely needed to take their car to a garage.

Surprisingly, the other high scores in the survey, which was based on 48,000 cars under eight years old covered by Warranty Direct, were achieved by the Rover 45, Citroen Xsara, Skoda Octavia, Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra, Fiat Brava/Bravo, Volkswagen Golf, Renault Megane and Seat Leon - not another Japanese car among them. '

they are talking ****** on that site. have the people commentating on the car, have probably never driven one nor sat in one!
i hate tits like that

Well, in my opinion (for what it's worth, and having owned one 1.6 Trofeo and two 155 HGT's), if you get a "good one" they're OK, but if you get a bad one - they're dogs.

The 1.6 was a dog and one 155 was good, the other was OK, but things were decaying and starting to fall off. A bit like me.

With regards to reliability etc, my Bora's airbag light came on this week, while travelling at 65mph on a motorway at midnight. Not a soul about, and the car starting beeping at me.

Thought that was kinda odd.

Took it to VW today cus the airbag light was still on; they confirmed the worse. Nearside "Explosion" airbag needs replacing.

I asked for a quote..

They said "It's completely free for any VW car upto 6 years old as it's a safety issue, warranty or not".

Which was nice. My Bora is only just over 3 years old :)

i agree i bought an old punto and it never gave me a probs but no i got a bravo ive had lots of probs ive changed pretty much everything nw. so its running all good :)

Let them keep knocking it!! The less people know about the car, the better in my opinion.

well i've replied... just to drop a few hints to www.fiatboo.co.uk... but it's making me think... should i really sell my bravo with pratts like them slating the poor things :( didn't tell them how great the JTD was.. maybe is should????? ;)

no ian,.... not as quick as that bloody Bora!! grrr....

I'd just like to tell every1... if u don't think the VW Diesel is quick then just try having a race with Ian..... for a brief... and i mean VERY brief i thought i was gonna give him a good run... but then he poped it into 2nd gear... and that was it.. i was seeing VW black smoke! :(

Plain awesome the PD130/150 engines.

Never would I say the JTD Bravo was slow with a remap, however 1400kg worth of Bora with a remap isn't slow either.

At least we can say it's been tried and tested now !

Wonder if the Bora is quicker than a HGT..

Hmm :)

with reference to the actual topic - the guys on parkers point to which-car as a downer on the Bravo/a but if they actually took the time to read the full report they would realise that the Bravo/a is a reliable car just has its weak areas like any other car does. Also if you use the warranty index stats and look around inc. the which car table the Bravo/a is classed as an 'above average' reliable car.

Maybe someone who has signed up to the forum needs to point that out!

Some good arguing there :) That's what I like to see! Can somebody registered mention the Bravo/a came in 8th out of 48,000 cars for reliability according to WhatCar? 1st being best of course not worst ;)
