? is there anyone that can help me with suspenstion? what im needing to know is what is the best drop for a set of 15" wheel on my mk1 punto, as i have to go over speed bumps im my street any advie would be good. thanks :D

Wish I could get 4 shocks and springs for that price!!! Personally, if I had a 55 I'd go for it, no point splashing big money if the car isn't worth alot. With the shocks you should get a better ride overall :D

ill prob go for 45 drop then if to hight buy the 60 mm springs if am not happy lol but ill wait and see.

Well mine is dropped 35...and 5 lower than a 55 as standard...which makes 40! :) (See I'm a smart cookie, me! )

I find the ride height fine, and only have problem going over one set of speed bumps that I know of, and one of the fecking up ramps in a car park at Braehead!

I'm also on standard 14s at the moment but when I had the 15s on it looked grand!

Oh and one of it in motion just so you can see what it looks like lowered (Noooo...not just cause I like the pic! )

Och the rear arms go anyway, its possibly THE most common faults on Mk1 Puntos!

But I'd never reccomend a 60mm drop anyway on an almost standard looking Punto!

cheers boys you've made my mind up for me :) 40 drop it is then. am not wantin to trash ma wee car, any more hints and tip would be grand. cheers

I would stay away from the 60mm drop, you will wear your rear suspension arms in no time, just ask martyn about his mk1 and 60mm drop!

I was going to say! BIGGEST mistake I made on the punto!

Sure, it LOOKED the mutts nuts but drive wise it was a joke! It also ate through track rod ends - an average of one a week (and Im NOT Exaggerating)

Plus you had the issue of speed bumps!

Thats true, but the 60 drop just speeds things up to a point where most people would get fed up pretty quick.

the suspension experts will tell you 35 max & for a very good reason driveabilty......sure you can drop car lower it,ll look the ******** but do you want to actully drive your car or just tootle around  ...

quite suprised by the responses on this one, personally id go 60mm every time, as puntos sit so high out of ther box. Ive had a 60 sx down 60mm, (6 years now) and it hasnt worn out any components, same with the GT :?

A lot depends on what you drop it with - ie. quality kit or cheap shite.

No reason why a well balanced and matched -60mm drop shouldn't be used if you think you'll get away with it. Personally, I'd have though -40mm would be just tickity boo

yes this is to some degree right but most of the young team go out & slam thier car on cheap shite
if you realy want to go realy low coil overs are the answer , good ones.& of course you will eat tyres on 17,s
thats if you want to realy drive :D but as i always say its like food, i,ve lowered my punto on apex kit 35 toyo t1s,s
like acrab round corners  far from the ultimate but money for money a good call if you know what i mean :D
