Anyone remember System Shock 2?

Anyone remember this PC classic?

I feel like playing it... does anyone have any Idea how to get it to Run on Windows XP?

I've looked all over the Net for Tips and to no avail. There was no XP patch made for it and I don't really want to play in Win98 as it means while I'm enjoying myself all the other computers in the house lose Internet.

If anyone can elighten me I'l be your best friend

Have you tried right clicking the icon for it, going to properties and clicking the compatability tab? You can set it to Windows 98 mode there

tired one time but it didnt like something about the computer, was too high spec for the game to comprehend i think shame because was a brilliant game (at the time ofc lol)

I did... and it fools you enough to look like it loads up.. but when you hit Start the screen goes blank and it dies

Ahh it never works, thought this might be the first time ever lol! Would it work on dos? Because an emulator might work for it

I tried DOS BOX... I was promptly promtped to: Fook Off! Press any key to continue...

Does your processor have Hyperthreading ("HT Technology" or whatever they call it )? If it does, try this:

TRY THIS!!!!!!!!!

Open the SSHOCK2.CFG file and type at the end of the document:
safe_texture_manager


That worked for me
