Any ideas on this head unit problem?

It works ok, most of the time, but prob every other time i turn on the car it messes up, as i turn the key to start the car the head unit flickers as it would normally but doesnt stay on, it turns itself off and doesnt coem back on, it ends up i have to take the HU out and pull the plug and put it back in... ???

My HU was dicking about last month, the display would flicker on and off like Disco light, and the unit inevitably ate the CD and broke.

However, I dont think this was down to the car or electrics, rather that it was a £80 "yakumo" Hypersound stereo with too many features for the money and that it was just made badly.

yup, sounds like that problem, piece of poo HU, will have to sell it and get another i think
