L C Motors in Newport, are probably the best fiat repairers around the south Wales area, had quite a bit of work done by them on a punto Mk 2, (or Satan as I liked to call it) a while back.
Although haven’t dealt with them for several years now, I still think they have a good reputation.
Do a search on this forum, for some info about them.
They are on Corporation Road, opposite the Newport transport bus depot.
I'll second that one! good bunch of blokes there.
And Craig the receptionist is actually quite cheerful
Pity about old Bill though![]()

Could you please explain your experience? Im very curious...![]()
Do you work for Wessex Garages?
Probably best if I don't.
I post on here because, hopefully, I can offer a few people some impartial advice on things I know about, and because Ben and his team don't have a problem with me posting information about new Fiat models or changes to the range when they are announced, not to try and get business for the dealerships I work for.
Seeing a blatant set-up like this thread, where somebody asks a question purely so that a dealership can join up and promote themselves annoys the hell out of me, and my post was a knee-jerk reaction to seeing just that. Very unprofessional of me.
All dealerships have good and bad reports. None of us are perfect.
Yes I do (you either know me, know Wessex are in Gloucester and guessed, or searched through some very old posts to find that out?). Why do you ask? *
* Leaves himself open to a tirade of abuse about a bad experience with one of our sites...![]()
I'm not worried. There are still a few people that know me and aren't ashamed to admit itWell don't worry because I don't know you personally. I just simply guessed from your Gloucester location and good technical advice posts![]()
I appreciate your honestyI have actually visited all 3 Wessex Fiat franchises and found Newport to be the weakest. Staff dont have a clue - parts and servicing - not impressed and wouldnt recommend them. Sorry just had to mention that![]()
That is good to hear, especially as they operated out of what was effectively a tin shed on a building site for over 12 months. Have you been in to the new showroom yet?On a positive note I would recommend Wessex Cardiff for South Wales![]()

I think some sort of divide between the Italians and the Koreans would have been good (2 separate showrooms was out of the question for both space available and cost reasons) but overall it works well having them either side of the main entrance with differing décor in each area....I think it would have been much better if the showroom was just Fiat and Abarth. In my opinion Fiat/Kia/Abarth under one roof is too much![]()
The layout of the site makes it difficult to get to Parts and Service from anywhere but the Nissan showroom, but that is in the process of being re-developed so changes could be made. The new showroom on the Abarth/Fiat/KIA side was only stage one. Also you have to cross over to the Nissan showroom for Fiat/Kia/Abarth parts and servicing which isnt great.
Again, good to hearHowever, the service dept is good and staff knowledge excellent.

And yet on the other hand I didnt like the experience of that place for one minuet [cold and so impersonal ]..we were looking at a new sedici and they had one on stock on a 09 plate ..the guy we spoke to was so far up his own ar$e and kept talking about the fact the drove a high end model got so monotonous we simply said no thanks and in the end we just walked out and went else where..I have never had this problem with L.C and found they aint pushy and the service I get is always a nice experience..in fact I feel sorry to have to leave there and go home such is the friendship I have found at the place..![]()
