Ants - How do you get rid of them

How do you get rid of ants, we have got loads of them. I have tried the powder, the gel, the traps, the liquid instant killer and they keep coming back.

As far as I can tell the only way the poison is going to work is that they eat so much they die of obesity. They love the stuff and it doesn't kill them.

I may have to resort to torching the front garden tomorrow.

Anybody got any ideas.

cheep makes or nippon?

bleach or brake fluid + match. Both worked for my mate, but the grass never grew again

boil ur kettle and then pour down all the holes, my old man does it in the green house seems to do the trick!

Tried both the fake and proper Nipon stuff. I am leaning towards the brake fluid + match.

Not sure the wife will be pleased about the lawn though

Nipon stuff usally works, they take it back to nest then it kills them.

im with charlie boy boiling water down the holes in garden works a treat my dad and my grandad swear by it. woo brings back memories as a child of boiling ants alive for me dad cause they were invadinghis veggie patch lol

i favour petrol to be honest... nothing else worked when we had an ant problem, if its on grass be careful it takes awhile to come back, also dont light it other wise it doesnt work.

on the other hand on the grass i tried out french bangers, they're like scale dinamite and they are awsome to mess with, send all the ants about 10ft in the air if you bury it into their home.

i wonder if this could be considered animal cruelty?
