Technical Anti-Panic?

Hi,
Just starting to investigate a problem with the "intermittent wipe" on my 2010 2.2L x250.
In preparation, I have started to read the eLEARN documentation! The first instruction in Test 5550AB says "Place the steering column switch unit lever in the Anti-panic position".

What is the Anti-Panic position?

My guess is the [upwards] single / multi sweep spring push position. It is position E in the attachment. Looking at the wiper tests it goes through the switch positions of single sweep [ if the stalk is pressed briefly ], OFF, intermittent, slow , and fast speed in order and the first one they call anti panic. Perhaps it is the first action that you do if the windscreen is covered in water i.e do not panic but use the anti panic sweep by keeping the stalk pressed in the first position?
