Now that it's summer I can't drive my freshly washed car five miles without bugs sticking to the screen. My normal screenwash does nothing. Halfords do a special mix for bug smears but is it safe against my paint? Thanks.

Hi there

Would just like to just add a comment to this thread, if your using a strong chemical mix to remove bugs and flies of your car, be ware that if you have had a resprayed body part like me in my previous JTD the chemicals can stain your cars paint work. This is off course if the bodyshop who resprayed your car did not use any lacquer (not happy ) then I would suggest avoiding chemical spray solutions on your your car. The only way I managed to remove the white stains was with some AutoGlym super resin polish and even then i was bringing up paint from my front bumper on the cloth, the respray job was a total farce :bang:

Hey man thanks for the tip, sorry to hear about your bad respray experience.(n)

No worries and the worst thing about it was that I could not actually go back to the body shop and attempt to sort matters out as the respray job had been done under a previous owner
