Another RIP, Caroline Aherne

Yet more sad news today as it's reported that Caroline Aherne has died at the age of 52. A truly funny lady who astutely observed life and turned it into comedy. Mrs Merton was a genius creation and who could forget that infamous moment with Debbie McGee (I won't quote it as it's getting over-used at the moment). Loved the Royle family too - it was amazing the way she made 30 minutes of not doing an awful lot and never moving out of one house quite so funny...and poignant too at times.

Sabine Schmitz has passed away at the age of 51. The only female winner of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring died of a rare form of cancer.

Aye, my son-in-law informed me about this. She certainly knew how to drive fast and blew away many,many male drivers. Not to sound too uncaring, I found her quite irritating.
