Hi all
I just need a little advice/clarification from the Fiat experts on here. I joined this site on a fact finding mission for a friend, My son's girlfriends brother
to be precise. Who owns a 1999 Fiat Seicento Sport and who rather foolishly bought the car with just one Blue key (I only say foolishly now as i've read the various posts on here) So none the less he's made a Major Blunder and the keycode light is now permanently on and the car won't start. This effectively means that the Timpsons option is out and i can only presume that his only option is to either:
1) insert a new chip in the ECU and bypass the immobiliser
2) buy a new lock set including ignition barrel from ebay.
3) contact Fiat for a very expensive alternative to the above
I have just one question is there anyway that you can read the current ECU by adapting an interface socket to read the portion which contains the keycode. This can obviously be done to some extent as I've seen the website for the chap in Norfolk who can reprogram the ECU and Keys but as were are in Leeds I think it would be cheaper to contact Fiat
any advice greatly appreciated
Also i'll be advising the halfwit to join this forum to avoid future mistakes
Plus i had been against my own son buying a Fiat untill now but after seeing this forum you may now of changed my mind:idea:
