Evening all

Glad to see the site up and running again! (thoughts go out to the states)

Another problem with my stilo! 1.9jtd 115 multiwagon

As reading through threads about the P0235 error, and moving a sensor, mine has been moved onto the side of the battery case. but still have no turbo when its cold.

the past 2 days i leave work, hit the m56 at runcorn and have no turbo until i come off the m53 for cheshire oaks, where when it goes to tickover and i move off again it kicks in at round 1500 to 2000rpm.

Any help with this will be great, new wishbones to fit the weekend if i have ordered the right size! only one way to find out(y)

Cheers

The MAP sensor measures manifold pressure(boost) and via the ECU it controls the Boost Control Valve(moved to the side of the battery).

The Boost Control Valve controls boost by controlling the actuator on the turbo.

First remove and clean the MAP sensor, they get clogged up with crap from the exhaust(via the EGR).

Here's where and how to remove it.

Secondly check the small pipes running to and from the Boost Control Valve and the large pipes running from the turbo to the intercooler and on to the manifold for leaks.

Thirdly check the actuator on the turbo moves freely(the one in the video below sticks) when you first start the engine.

Lets us know what you find and if things improve.

You may also want to check the EGR as you may be loosing boost and power if it's sticking .. They need cleaning, many people blank them off to prevent further problems. Here's a video of mine after a quick clean.

Thanks Shadeyman,

had a look today, took the map off gave it a spray with electrical cleaning spray, went to take the EGR off and it has already been plated!, so my next point of call was the MAF, looks like its been played with before.

Couldnt get it off so the connector a spray, left it disconnected took the car up the road power was there but not full power, re-connected it took it up the powers there.

when doin the wishbones last week, i noticed where the plastic (n/s/f), rubs, someone had had a go of cutting it to stop it rubbing and patched the hose, (new ones on order).

this leaves me thinking it defo the MAF sensor, the car must of been pwned by someone of the forum because it got the forum stickers on, and all the mods have been done! just wish i knew to get some history. if anyone knows?

Cheers paul

give us the spec of the car and the last 3 digits of the reg... someone might know who the forum member was/is to help you out!

who was the last registered owner on the logbook? im pretty sure there is a way of getting all previous owners but i dont know, i might be lying. when i bought the wifes coupe i contacted the previous owner and wrote a letter to the lady who owned it for 9 years before him, just to enquire about it and say that she was in good hands, also gave my email and offered to drop by if we were ever in the vacinity 'for old times sake' having said that the 'coop' has a different type of folowing ;)

Hello,
I am the previous owner you got in touch recently.
I did return a message but unsure if you received it. The car has had a replacment turbo Aug last year
New turbo solonoid (moved to battery tray)
New MAP Sensor
Blocked off and cleaned egr valve.

I ran out of ideas with it after changing everything on the turbo circuit.

I would suggest fiat dealership equipment and save the headache i had for 18mths.

These cars are a pain to fix expensive and worth nothing in terms of value.
I think the fault could be in the loom or ecu as it was the only things never checked.
Good luck if you find the problem i would love to know what it was.

Cheers
