Yesterday at the meet and last night I got pondering with an idea that I thought may work.
After sitting and looking at the gallery for the last week or so at the italfest and euro bravo pics I clicked...

We should organise going to a show in paris!
Something like the GTI show perhaps?

Now this would take a lot of organising but I don't mind taking a lot of it on myself but would look for helpers.
This is only a rough idea at the moment and may not even get off the ground, just thought what a cool way to see how they do it on the other side of the water?

what do you all think?

I'd be well up for it Dan, however, what are the rules and regs regarding driving on the continent? Like minimum age, driving experience etc?

I'd love to, just not sure if I am old enough etc.

There are also crazy regs for each country regarding safety equipment and stuff like that

Requirements

Minimum driving age:
The minimum driving age in France is 18yrs with a Full UK License. Drivers who have passed their test within two years are restricted to speeds below 110kph on motorways, 100kph on urban motorways and 80kph outside built up areas.

Essential equipment for your car:
You must carry a warning triangle, spare light bulbs, flash light and a first aid box.

It is 18 yes, but i believe many insurers are 21, best check with your insurer.

Top plan though :), if i had a bravo i would have put my name down.

Boo has gone to belgium already so its do able.

Well if it comes down to that then people can car share etc but would prefer to get a few cars going over there :)

Cracking idea chap. It's funny I was only thinking the other day that instead of 50 quid for the likes of donny north which was pap, how about something like italfest which I know the lads who went last time enjoyed.
I only have one reservation though, after hearing the stories yesterday I'm not too sure about camping with you again !

Sounds good mate i am insured with elephant and insured to drive in the EU as its standard cover when fully comp.
One thing bothering me tho is getting on and off the train or fairy due to some of are cars being so low at the back.

a lot of them now compensate for that having wood etc to even it out I've noticed. only need a couple of bits of wood even if they dont :)

sounds like a damn good idea to me, Italfest would be superb imo :)

as for the ferrys etc, i really wouldnt worry about that, i was at a meet yesterday with another forum im on, and sufficed to say, patch was the cheapest car there by at least 10k, alot of modded m3's and modded csl's modded m5's and all manner of bm's inbetween (including a super charged and nitroused z4 :)), was something else, all of those got on and off the ferry / train so no problems for us i shouldnt have thought

Patch is staying for a bit longer... long live the HGT (well the memory anyway... :()

I was thinking more of a modified car show Al, as theres already quite an offering of italian exotica shows in blighty already over the year. wanted to see where the foreigners are going mod wise!

i thought Italfest was a anything italian goes show, modded or not???

plus it isnt too much of a jaunt across the continent, but enough for a good blast :)

would want a god co pilot mind to tell you of the suitable gaps :) (or is that just me....)

I mentioned this again a few months back. A few of the euro bravo sites had been in contact with me as they wre trying to set up a euro bravo site which would be one central place for all the bravo clubs across europe. In the sit would be main news from all of the sites across europe with the links to each site.
Hopefully from this it should be a good starting point to arrange a vune in europe where all of the clubs could meet :)
I will keep you all updated but Dan please keep looking into it anyway just in case nothing happens this side
