Alright all. im looking to get my build in asap but before i do i want to get rid of my amp and replace it with some thing thats a bit more reliable my amp cuts out if its turned up anywhere near full power any ideas, anyway im looking for an amp to run my 2 pioneer subs they are 600watts each total and at the mo are running from a 1200watt renegade 4channel amp. i would think its putting much more then 70-80 rms per channel as its quite cheap. so im looking for a nice amp to put no less then 175-200rms per sub. dont really wanna spend to much looking no more then £175 anyone got any ideas cheers all.

Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

ok well i thought it they would have done but mabye not. as said the amp is only a cheap one and has the same max power as that rockford 1 so do you think i could be putting in alot less then what i thought its a 4 channel at the mo thats a 2. im wondering whether that amp would sound any good. whats your thoughts mate cheers Danny

Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

what is the model number of the 2 subs you have?

much easier to find an amp if we know what make and model the subs are - not just the max power rating etc

Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

they are pioneer tsw304f they sound great at the mo but the amp cuts out as i said when its tunred up loud. once again cheers for your help.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

The 'f' in the model name refers to 'free air' - which means they shouldnt be in an enclosure - how is your install set up? are they in a box or on the shelf?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

sorry must be c then i know they are meant to be in a box as it said on the box im in work so dont have the exact number here. just done a seach but they are def for a box.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

Fairly high power handling - you need to be giving them minimum 100watts rms at 4ohm - preferably more

I'd be tempted to save a bit more money and spend something in the £250 range on an amp - nothing worse than an underpowered sub

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

ok mate but saying that this is the same amp im putting in to it now and it sounds great mine is 200watts more but it sounds really good and its low as i said at the mo as it cuts out turned up surely this cant be putting much more then 125-150rms into each sub the fuse rating is only 30or40amp aswell. just want something of similar peak power not costing an arm and a leg. cheers Danny

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

don't touch it with a barge pole unless it has an RMS power rating - when matching your subs to an amp ignore the max power rating unless that of the amp exceeds that of the sub by a large margin.

Try and match RMS power as closely as possible and then go for the best make in your price range (matching the make of amp to subs where possible)

Your subs are 4ohm so ignore all references to 2ohm power ratings on amps.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

ok but if i was to look at spending a bit more then have you got any ideas. to be honest im not to bothered by names or anything.what about buying 2 seperate amps to run them mabye 150rms each.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

The JBL and the infinity amps are actually the same internals :)

Not bad amps.

alright mate dunno if you have read the post but do you have opinions.suggestions or anything.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

They will do the job quite nicely.

I still think you have a wiring problem though.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: AMP WANTED PLEASE.

nice prices - if you are happy with 2 amps rather than 1 then that looks like a good deal
