Hi people

Im thinking of buying an amp for my bravo and was just wondering...wot is the best way to fit it in the boot without it sliding around everywhere?

Im not planning on getting a sub at this moment in time, so i cant attach it to that, but i will prob need to fix one in the boot as well at some stage!

Cheers guys

Can u screw it directly to the floor, cos I heard that would cause some interference??

And where is the best place to screw it as i dont want to puncture the fuel tank or any brake cables etc??

You could get a large bit of MDF, then screw into that...

It doesnt have to be exactly to shape, just hide it under the carpet...;)

It won't cause interferance, please slap the mong who told you that :)

There is no worry about brake pipes as they all go under the car, there is alot of wiring in the boot floor so take up the carpet first!!

The fuel tank is quite a way under the boot floor so if you drill carefully you will be fine. Down the drivers side of the boot there is about 2" clearance over the tank.

hmmm....still a bit dubious of drilling thru the boot floor. Not cos i dont trust ur opinion :), just cos i know i'll mess it up!!!

Presumably, if i do wot Daz says and just get a piece of mdf and place it under the carpet in boot?! Is it best to glue the wood to the underside of the carpet?? That way the wood doesnt need to be attached to the boot floor?!

Use some gripfil/no more nails to glue the MDF to the metal of the car.

i screwed my amp to the back of the seats in my bravo. looked well tasty with some neons as well. just use the self tappers that come with the amp to screw it in.

ash, have you got any pics of your amp with the neons?

i'm thinking of doing something with my amp and neons, just looking for ideas.

nah sorry mate i haven't. my sub and amp got robbed the other week so still haven't got any stuff back yet. hoping to get two new sony pentagons though at max power live. i had two neons up where the original speakers are and one infront of the amp.

Back of seat is best. I screwed mine through a layer of MDF before attaching to seat back. Looks good for sure. Its 2nd advantage is that the heat sink fins point upwards which possibly keeps my amps cooler.

how did u attach the piece of wood to the back seat? Just screwed it in (any place in particular)?
