Am I doing something wrong?

I have an iPhone and I'm trying to get it to play music through car speakers. I have the iPod/iPhone adaptor for the car and I am trying to update the software to 5.4 so it will work.

I have the files on a USB stick and when I insert it into the USB port in the glove box and turn the key to mar all I get is the lady saying update started and seconds later I get a message saying USB error 10. I have tried a brand new USB stick that has had nothing on it and also tried formating to fat32 can someone help. Am I doing something wrong

Are the files unzipped properly and the only things on the USB drive? How old is your car?

Yeah I'm confident the files unzipped correctly I'm fairly computer literate. The only files on the USB stick are 6 files from the zipped folder. Thr car is an 09 plate so I dunno if it has the update already.if it has then it's not playing any music from my iPhone

If it won't go on, then I would ask the dealer. They can force an upgrade using Examiner. One final shot, is there a "log" file on the USB stick? If there is, what does it say?

The log says update aborted - error 02
