no i dont have air con unfortunatley but thankyou though

The bigger of the two alternator wires will be the main output to the battery.

I don't have the Multipla wiring diagram but it will either go direct to the battery +ve or possibly to the starter motor main terminal, where it would bolt on with the heavy starter motor wire that goes direct to the battery. Some older Fiats also used a terminal block on the bulkhead to connect all the positive feeds together which then connected direct to the battery +ve.

Hi
I have just checked my 97 2.0 8v Ulysse without a/c and can confirm that the larger wire runs direct to the battery terminal. The wire is protected in an semi rigid outer casing which is in more than one part. Is it possible that part of this casing has slipped down the cable and hidden the end from view?

Hope this helps.
Chris.
