Hi all,
So I'm the guy who's always asking questions, and I'm stumped on why a new Manelli alternator was putting out funky readings on the DMM. First, it wasn't charging, and I found a broken solder joint on the rectifier lead. Once repaired, I was getting ~ 15.6VDC once it kicked in. Replaced the voltage regulator and now I'm getting ~14.2VDC. My question is concerning the bloody dash light that will dim at first but then just stay on. My D+ voltage differential is about 6-7VDC. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something here. Should it not match what the alternator puts out on B+? Any comments are most appreciated!
Best,
Steve
