Own up if it's you :p

Ive seen worse in Greece even with smarts and 500's but i couldnt be bothered taking pictures of it. its so common its considered normal here anyway = ((
sexist or not its mainly women messing up the parralel parking, although double parking both men and woman are equally to blame.

definitely standard parking in Italy :) In Milan during the weekend you can find car parked everywhere, you would be amazed.

No wonder i have scratches on my bumper!

You need to remember that most attempts at traffic control - double white lines, no parking, pedestrian precinct, speed limits, daytime running lights, and so on - are purely advisory in Italy.

If you think this is bad, you should visit Gibraltar.

I'll swear the dealers there put a couple of dings in during the PDI, just to get you started.

I don't think I've ever seen a totally scratch & dent free car south of the airport.

Can fully understand what you are saying, As a pedestrian I tried to cross the road at a designated crossing point in Naples, needless to say the traffic ignored me, I did not want to take my life in my hands, so gave up.

The Italians have become better with zebra crossings in the last couple of years - if you give the driver a hard stare and lift your hand slightly in a premature gesture of thanks they normally stop for you. At least you could probably claim on insurance if you're run over on a crossing where otherwise it would be impossible.

I remember being a passenger in a car driving south from Rome towards Calabria (the "Toe"). Waking from a nap I thought the motorway looked unusual - it took me a minute or two to realise that it had been recently resurfaced, but that they had not bothered to paint any white lines to show the lanes and keep the traffic separated.

Only in Italy.

Sounds about as exciting as Parisian roundabouts...! I swear the only way to get across one is to aim for the exit you want; close your eyes; floor the accelerator, and then hope the other motorists only gently nudge you in the right direction.... (And never ever drive around the Arc de Triomphe. Did it in a taxi, once. Never again....)

That's quite common - and the traffic is usually better-behaved on those stretches than on marked-up ones.

In general I'm quite accustomed to the driving habits in Italy but the one thing that still scares me s--tless is motor bikes going at very high speeds and crossing from lane to lane at random.

yes exactly and if they hit you they blame you and cry murder you tried to kill me! after that, even if its not your fault, you have a court case to deal with to prove your innocence!

if the motorcyclist wants to kill himself, thats his problem, but why do i have to be involved!
