Hi all wot do u suggest...... get alloys referb or buy new??? ,, brava 1.2 01 plate

Depends if you want shiny new wheels on the day or can wait for them to be refurbished. new ones are pricey, my best option would be wheels only and get some road tyres like Marshall. there really good for low tyre wear had mine for two years now still at 5 mm depth. alloys that need refurbishment can be risky as you don't know what they have been through, you don't know for instance if they smashed into a curb or been in an accident or warped or buckled

Clearly a few nights sleep &/or days of reflection have repaired m’lady’s powers of reasoning – for a moment I thought we maybe in trouble … I couldn’t begin to suggest where you might shop for a new brain.

May your “really cheap” wheels be of the correct PCD, bore & ET … & make happy tracks in many snows.

If you get used wheels that need refinishing get them stove enamelled. Its low cost and tough and looks good for way longer than paint.

But please avoid 17s they will look silly.

I use CJ Ward in Burton on Trent. They do all sorts of stuff for bike & car restorers.

It would be better to buy new wheels since refurb. prices start from 40 quid per wheel.
