You can put either 16's or 17's on. 16's(195/45/16) go on dead easy and the car can be lowered around 40mm and there is no rubbing with spacers on the rear, thats with 4 adults in the car. You can get 17's(205/40/17) on, but you can't get absolute full lock and the rear scrub going over speed bumps and when you hit bumps in the road with people in the back- but this is a small price to pay cos 17's look amazing on the mk2. Note- if you go to a shop to buy alloys, the sales assistant will recommend 16's and will probably say that 17's don't fit. This is just to cover themselves, 17's do fit and you should buy them
