Just fitted some original turbo alloy wheels to my 60s.
They look the biz but problems...
..when I turn the steering wheel to nearly full lock either side, the inside rim of the alloys makes contact with the tracking control arm and starts to sheer metal off the rims!

Any suggestions what I need to do, other than ditch the rims??

have u had your new wheels tracked and aligned, try that first then try spacers, I had the same prob when i put turbo alloys on my uno

The tracking's defiantely out coz the old wheels were treadless on the inside edge.
Never heard of spacers are these just big washers? Where can you get them on the net in UK??

u would need to go to a wheel or tyre place, so they could tell you how much the spacers need to be, I thik 5mm would be sufficent, but u may need longer bolts if u have spacers.

Try getting them tracked and aligned first.

You can get universal spacers from halfords and places like that or try demon tweeks cause I think they do spacers specific for an Uno

But do alignment an tracking first

This is due to the turbo has got double ventialted discs and the non-turbos have single disc. Hence different offset. You need spacers. Measure the offset of the old and new wheels, and buy spacers according to the difference. Momo makes different sizes.

abarth wheels & steering. ia lowered. pg audio. refurnish.

projects: air intake. (used) seats. exhaust-repair. legal tint.

Got 5mm spacers from trackstore.co.uk with bolts too(40mm thrd M12 1.25) Needed spacers for the back too as the tyre wall was just millimetres away from the rear suspension.
